"Hope"
"Soul Echoes"
How often I look out my window
and I wonder what I think I'll see.
Do I really expect to see you sitting
in the shadow of the evergreen tree?
As when you were a baby
and I fed you treats and stars.
You grew up that springtime...
that springtime that was ours.
How often I look out my window
and tears come to my eyes
as I think of times together
beneath the starry skies...
when side by side we laid
near the apple tree.
How often I look out my window
and think of you and me.
One Day will I look out my window
and really see you there?
In the Dawn's first Light?
In the Morning fair?
Will we sit together then
as in times ago?
How often I look out my window
and hope that this is so.
